We caught up with Claire Shiplett, Executive Director of Sunbury Shores, who shared her MarketTap story with us:
Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre creates real opportunities for people to appreciate the connection between art and nature. The Centre has two galleries for exhibitions and studios for painting, drawing, printmaking, jewelry, metalsmith, pottery, and other art and nature programs. Every summer, Sunbury Shores hosts an annual art auction to raise funds for the Centre’s programs.
We have a big vision to become the arts and nature destination in Canada and Eastern USA for artists and exhibitors. We know marketing is essential for us to meet our goals. As a Not-For-Profit, we rely on our generous sponsors and revenue from our programs to support the Centre. Our business depends heavily on the summer months to sustain us through the winter. During the summer, we need a ton of extra man power, especially to support our annual auction. We’ve been struggling to find a good marketing solution that caters to our need for flexibility and affordability.
Our two main goals are to attract world-class artists and increase revenue through program enrollment and fundraising initiatives.
MarketTap manages our social media advertising and built the marketing strategy for our annual summer auction event. We have seen fantastic results. In 2016, we didn’t have a marketing plan at all. With MarketTap in 2017, we introduced a digital marketing strategy and online ticket sales that increased fundraising by 70%, reaching $32,996.
